Founder Member and Service Director
Claire set up the charity after the death of her friend Caraline. She set up a support service for people with eating disorders and named it in memory of her friend.
Since then Claire has been an ardent supporter of her clients. In the 27 years that Caraline has been established Claire has achieved many things. To name a few; she became a qualified counsellor, was awarded Young Volunteer of the year for her work by Princess Michael of Kent, and has taught people about eating disorders in London, Denmark, and Gibraltar. She has also written a book called My Body My Enemy that has been published and read across the world.
Office Manager
Elaine is very proud to have been part of the Caraline team since August 2009. She is a great believer in everything happens for a reason and following redundancy she feels she now has one of the best jobs in the world, working for a wonderful charity and it’s amazing staff, Trustees, and volunteers, along with helping to provide its clients with the best service possible.
Operations Manager
Carrie enjoys supporting others and helping them to realise their full potential. Carrie has a long association with Caraline and enjoys her role as Operations Manager, ensuring the charity runs smoothly and efficiently for all concerned.
Clinical Lead Psychotherapist (CBT)
Having decided to combine his interests in education and psychology, Leon subsequently studied for and completed a Master’s of Science Degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Buckinghamshire New University.
As part of his role at Caraline, Leon provides both 1-1 and group therapy for clients experiencing a range of concerns such as Binge Eating, Anorexia Nervosa and Bulima Nervosa. Leon’s solution focused approach assist’s clients to achieve long term positive sustainable changes.
Therapist
Imelda has worked for Caraline, since qualifying as a counsellor over twenty years ago. Her role involves one to one therapy with clients. She also facilitates the client and carers support groups, and the eating behaviour groups. Her skills as a cancer specialist nurse, have also equipped her in dealing with potentially distressing situations.
CBT Therapist
Marta joined Caraline in May 2019. She has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in 2017 at University of Hertfordshire. Marta has worked for over 14 years in addiction services. She is very excited about being given the opportunity to work at Caraline.
CBT Therapist
Connor joined Caraline in May 2019 and has over 7 years’ experience working as a CBT therapist supporting clients on a 1:1 and group work basis. . He brings with him a wealth of experience from the Mental Health Sector and is a valued member of our team
